  "We stayed here 2 night on our travels through Finland. It is around 20 min by car from the city of Savonlinna. I would not stay here unless you are by traveling by car. The cottage we stayed at is adequate, nothing fancy but clean. The bathroom is small with a small shelf for toiletries. The sh..."ower had a curtain and the floor seemed to get quite wet. There are different types of lodging here from cabins by the lake to rooms in their home. We had a cottage near the home. The breakfast was very good, clean home and lots of homemade choices. If you use the sauna there is an additional charge. We walked to the lake through the woods and a very nice walk. We did not use the sauna. Do not make the mistake of asking how many acres or hectors they have as he asked us if we wanted to buy the farm. " More >

Now I came for a weekend getaway and the rooms were beautifully renovated with new furniture and a fresh and modern look in the bathroom!! I loved it! Service is very friendly in this hotel and Savonlinna offers great value for a tourist: the lake Saimaa, historical castle, good outdoor activities and good restaurants. The one in Spahotel Casino is of excellent quality and another good one is Huvila but this one is open only on summer. I have to come again to experience the opera festivals in summer! " More >
