  "Beautiful location, just outside Chora, with commanding views of the sea and the castle. We stayed in suite with living room/kitchen, 2 bedrooms, shower/WC and large balcony. Owners were delightful and attentive; always helpful - rather like staying with friends. Breakfast was plentiful and enjoyable - yoghurt, toasted sandwiches, bread, meat, cheese, cake, juice etc. If staying a few days its worth hiring a car as the hill from the port to the Chora is steep and long. And a car makes it much easier to see more of the island. Visiting in April allowed us to drive to remoter parts and then walk. We hired from Manolis Lakis on the quay, and were well pleased. Arriving, we flew from Kos (via Kalymnos and Leros, all in an hour and a half), but left on a ferry to Kalymnos. Be warned that the ticket agent who sells tickets for the Nissos Kalmnos... " More >

  "First time on the island and this hotel for Greek Orthodox Easter 2013. The welcome by the Mariakis family who owns this hotel was unbelievable. From picking us up at the airport, having arranged for car rental, providing us swimming towels and the soooo tasty lunch and dinners we had at the hotel..." at no extra charge! There was a personal attention to everything and you could ask for whatever you wanted at whatever time (not to mention the incredible home made breakfast). I had a problem the second day of our stay with the hot water due to a slight malfunction and it was fixed within 15 minutes even though it was Easter evening! I have rarely experienced this hospitality even though I've stayed in numerous places around the world and, although I rarely visit a place (not to mention a hotel!) for a second time while on a vacation, I promise to certainly visit this one again as soon as possible.
