This cottage is on the edge of town so it is one o..."f the farthest from the Monet house (but when I say "farthest", I mean about a 7-minute walk)--you miss some of the crazy tourists lining up, which I found to be great. It also gives you a chance to take in the architecture and gardens in this village--something you might miss otherwise. I had a very comfortable room--it was clean and felt a bit "old-fashioned" (in the best sense), with the writing desk and wash basin. I had my own very large bathroom with a large bathtub surrounded by lovely red and white tiles--a perfect place to relax after lots of walking.   "I've been to Giverny before and this time I wanted to spend more time in the village. This hotel was perfectly located, just yards from the entrance to the gardens. The staff was very helpful and kind. I can't say how much I appreciated that I was able to get glasses of ice, I can't give up my Am..."erican habit of ice cold water! They couldn't have been more helpful with everything I asked. The room was small but quite sufficient. The breakfast was good, as was the one other meal I ate there. The location was wonderful, I could spend time in the gardens, go back and rest and return without it being a big deal. The only problem I had was getting there. From what I'd read I'd expected a taxi at the train station in Vernon, but that was not to be, so I was told by the train station to take the bus. Unfortunately that left me in a parking lot with a rolling suitcase and tote, and in the heat, trying to roll that through the gravel was terrible. I had no idea where I was going... " More >
