Beaugency is a lovley, small town, full of places..." to eat and many interesting buildings. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about the local places to eat, all spoken in good English. A number of major Loire Valley chateaux nearby, including Chambord. We are returning soon for a few nights, with our elderly mother who wants to experience some French history. The rooms (we had no. 34) are spacious for French hotels and the staff is great. You can walk around the town in 30 minutes. The hotel has a very good ..."restaurant (the duck is splendid) and the best breakfast buffet we've had in France.   "We (two adults and two children) stayed for one night only in a family room. The hotel is truly amaizing, with lots of character. The architecute is really unique, with the spectacular staircaise, a fantastic breakfast room overlooking the bridge on the Loire, a pleasant bar with a great fireplace..." and a great terrace. (We could not use tha latter, due to the cold weather.This was compensated by having a nice dring in fromt og the fireplace). The grand scale of the building gives it a truly luxurious feel. It is hard to believe that there are only sixteen rooms in this huge place! Our room was very nice. The only thing that we were missing was more lighting in the bathroom. The receptionist was really pleasant and frindly. There is very convenient car park in front of the hotel. We higly recommend taking the breakfast in the hotel - it's not chap but they serve excellent local food in the spectacular setting. " More >
