  "I stayed at this hotel with my wife on a Saturday night. We were going to the Joiners (great live music venue) so the hotel was perfect as it was easy walking distance. The only drawback was the walk involved an underpass so we managed to get a lift back! The hotel is easy to get to but has limited ..."parking which costs £4 for 24 hours. Check in was quick and simple and the staff friendly and helpful. The rooms were a little 'tired' in places but generally OK as well as clean and well presented. The rail lines run at the back of the hotel and the main road on two sides so it can be noisy. Not a problem if you have some earplugs! Didn't use the bar or restaurant so cannot comment on these.   "Breakfast was great. I stayed 3 nights, Fri-Monday. There were organic eggs, English bacon plus nice sausages, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms - a full English breakfast. In addition, there was a place to toast things, a cereal bar including dried fruit. There also were two bowls of fruit every day, one ..."grapefruit sections, one mixed fruit. There was a coffee machine for espresso, cafe au lait, etc which would have been perfect if decaf had been one of the choices. I don't care for instant Nescafe, but at least there were an assortment of tea and herbal tea for the non-caffeine choice. On my last morning, I had to get to LHR, leaving at 6:30 AM, so I was told to find the night porter the night before and tell him my preferred breakfast time, to put out some food early (breakfast was 7-10). He put out everything except the hot cooked things and warm croissants, and even included a plate of ham and cheese slices which I did not see on the usual mornings, so I had plenty of protein options.   "I paid £8.28 for 24 hour Wifi mainly so I could watch on–demand TV on my iPad but every time I tried I had a message that the service was only available in the UK, even though I was in Southampton. After emailing the ITV Player helpsk, I realised that Ibis Hotels Wifi service is supplied by Orange ..."France, which is why they think you are in France.
