The rooms are in 'Pavillions' of around 20 rooms centred around a heated outdoor pool and surrounded by small lakes full of ducks and koi carp. The rooms are comfortable and are so well sound proofed that you don't hear..." your neighbours. A very child friendly place and it was so nice to have that tolerance at mealtimes as most people had small children. Two sittings in the evening at an excellent buffet. The kids were in bunk beds in a separate room which helped with them settling. Beauval zoo is just down the road and the nearby town of St Aignan has a good selection of eating places and a helpful tourist office. Lots of Chateaux and wine tasting in the local area. " More >

  "Shame about the buffet style dinner"
  "We stayed just the one night after a day visiting the wonderful Zoo and gardens. We took the Club Half Board dela which was 208 Euros for half board for 2 adults excluding zoo entrance. The hotel is designed to be Indonesian/Balinese in style (which it nearly achieves) and has a gift shop sellling ..."Balinese craftware at what seemed very reasonable prices. The bedrooms are all located in hexagonal? pavilions detached from the main hotel building and mostly close to the lake which had some pretty large fish in it. Our room was on the first floor - there are only 2 floors and had a small balcony overlooking the swimming pool. It was very spacious and included a second single bed which doubled up as a rather uncomfortable sofa (though as a bed it would have been very comfortable. The main bed was king size and very comfortable indeed.The WC was separate from the bath with shower over was very small and did not as I now recall have its own washbasin. The food, for those on half-board, is from..." a constantly refreshed and daily changing buffet. Wine prices are affordable and the list, comprehensive. The lodges surround a pond that contains some of the largest koy carp I have ever seen, as well as an established duck population and provides an excellent introduction to the zoo. The pool offers an excellent way to cool off, after your visit. Rooms are air conditioned, sizeable and very comfortable and each have a balcony. We have stayed twice and would return tomorrow!
