The journey was as always excellent as all trips in north Sikkim (ignoring the poor conditions of the road). The resort has a grand reception that makes you feel welcome right from the moment you step in. Our check in was fast and smooth and were allotted rooms on 2nd floor. We had reserved non valley view facing rooms. The rooms yet had a good back side view of towering hills. The rooms were spacious, clean, warm, inviting and cozy. To our surprise, each room had a TV with a good choice of channels. To genuinely explain better, we felt as though the rooms emanated warmth!   "Checked into Tashi Yankheel at Lachung for a night after an ardous journey of over 7 hours from Gangtok. The rooms are cozy, bathrooms clean. The hotel is a functional one, but one cannot expect 3 star luxury at remote Lachung. The beds are clean, and the staff very cheerful. Their service quality i..."s very good. Though the choice may be limited, meals are prepared fresh. Overall a pretty good experience. The only negative comment that I have is that wish the rooms were slightly bigger. The Sai Rebendste Holiday also owns a hotel - Sai Kripa at Gangtok, and my experience of staying at Sai Kripa was terrible, very bad. Tashi Yankhel is totally in contrast to the terrible Sai Kripa experience. " More >
