Through some sort of miracle, we found it, and it was amazing. We walked in and were greeted by Emma, a very friendly Taiwanese woman working there, who poured us generous portions of three of their wines and one of their whiskeys to taste, which were amazing (we ended up buying a few bottles to take home). Following that we were given a tour of the castle - and met the very friendly (notice a theme?) owner, who was up for the weekend.   "This hotel was more expensive than budget options but cheaper than international 4*/5* chains, and what you get is more or less what you'd expect for that price. It has all of the trappings of a 4* hotel - it's huge, complete with fitness centre, fully decked-out bathrooms, clean sheets... but s..."omehow all of the small details just fall short of the true 4* experience, e.g. front desk service is very slow, the TV menu claims to have international channels, but none of them work, the breakfast buffet in theory has the full range of food you'd expect, but just slightly lower quality than at a 4* hotel, etc. There was free fruit and a free teddy bear in my room, but my friends had just the fruit (which was still a nice touch). There was wireless the first day that randomly didn't work the second day - although cable internet worked fine throughout the stay. Still, it's a good mid-range or upper mid-range choice, and we didn't have any complaints with our stay. It's also walking... " More >
