  "This is quiet, rural France. We stayed for a fortnight and had a very good time. The house is roomy and well equipped. There are two footpaths down to the village, but give yourself twenty minutes to do them and more on the way back, they are steep. The village is small and friendly with a good bake..."rs and butchers. The grocers is alright'ish, but anything more that you need you can get from Langeac or (if you don't mind the longer drive) Brioude. While we were there, there were village fetes, fireworks, a communal meal and open air music. It was nice to wander down to the village at the end of the day, sit in the cafe and watch the world go by. There is safe canoeing on the Allier - short or long days of it, which ever you might prefer, but be prepared to have to drive to get to places. We spent evenings just sitting outside watching the lights of the village below, or on the terrace behind the house looking at the stars. All quiet, relaxing stuff. " More >
