You need a car since it is away from the main resorts, but we chose it to avoid the ugly coastal strip of Gran Canaria, for a walking holiday. It is all very tidy, with nicely maintained buildings, a whole world away from Playa del Ingles etc. Our room was large, with a good sized bathroom, a veranda outside looking on to the internal courtyard, and a window view over the historic church. The breakfast buffet was a bit limited, but OK. We didn't try the hotel restaurant, but visited tapas bars in the town. A very friendly little town, but doesn't have much besides a supermarket and a few bars. If you like noise, and a colourful local event, go during carnaval week (early February) but don't expect to sleep until about 2.00 - 4.00 am.
