Th..."e location, on the river in Orsa, is out of the mainstream of traffic but close enough to everything you might need. This was our second visit to the hotel. On our original trip a couple of years ago we stayed for two nights so we could spend a day in the nearby bear park. This time we were on a journey to the Arctic Circle so we could only stay for one night. Since we did not have a lot of leisure time, we did not take advantage of the many activities available. In our room, we did enjoy the free WiFi, coffeemaker, and the view of the river out our window. If you are in Sweden, off the beaten track, we highly recommend a stay at the Hotel Strandvillan.   "We stayed here for just one night, so we didn't spend much time at the hotel. However, I can say that the room was large, the breakfast was outstanding (so much choice) and being able to have breakfast on the balcony outside the breakfast room was great. The hotel is in a really nice, quiet location..." and it's easy to walk around Orsa from the hotel. We didn't hear any noise from outside or from the other rooms, so needless to say, we slept very well. The staff were so friendly and we would return without hesitation. The breakfast really stands out as being a memorable moment - beautiful view, black tea (rarely offered in Swedish B&Bs and so on) and newspapers to read. The only thing I missed out on was swimming - we simply didn't have time to go for a dip. " More >

  "Kungshaga was a surprise with very reasonable cost and an amazing view of the lake to the west of Orsa. While the hotel was a bit tired, the cleanliness was top notch and the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast selection was excellent and the dining room offered a great view of the lake. ..."I highly recommend as a hotel offering immense value and amenities. I would stay again!
