We will be travelling to Millness from Hampshire for the third time this coming August. When my wife first found the cottages on the internet in January 2008 we read a host of favourable reviews and they really looked too good to be true. On arrival we were stunned by the beauty of the cottages, the fabulous scenery surrounding them... more

Just about to book again so thaught I would write this review first. Such a beautiful part of the country but we didn't want to leave the cottage. Our stay was in the Grant cottage, home from home but better, immaculately furnished down to the very last detail, everything was such luxury, beautiful bathroom. gorgeous bedding, our son wanted to... more

We stayed at Grant cottage in August 2009, and eventually did what we have never done before, and left early, because it was so miserable. To be fair to the owners, the weather didn't help, but we know Scotland well, and were not expecting sunshine! It didn't start well - On our arrival, we noticed an overpowering odour of oil,... more

Management response from
MillnessCroft, Owner

Neil & Justine have owned & managed Millness for nearly 5 yrs. since we built it. Never once have we had a bad word said, let alone something as random & disappointing as this. We have put our hearts, souls, time & energy into making Millness a fantastic place for our guests to come & visit. We always attempt to...

Neil and Justine Ackeroid have created a modern Brigadoon in captivating Glen Urquhart outside Inverness. The spacious cottages have every amenity and the setting is spectacular. If a luxury private getaway in the Highlands is what you're looking for, look no further. You have arrived. more

We just returned from a fabulous holiday at Millness Croft. Four of us stayed in the Grant Cottage. We could not ask for more from the property. Everything was immaculately clean, and the beds were so comfortable--not to mention the area was so quiet and dark at night. The cottage had a full kitchen with complementary wine, milk, eggs, etc.... more

Millness Croft was our choice to celebrate our 25th anniversary and we were delighted with everything. Fresh farm eggs in the morning, wood for the fireplace, quiet and beautiful scenery, exceptional accommodations in terms of amenties and comfort, and a great location for hiking and sightseeing. We took advantage of the catered meals twice (it is an extra cost) and... more

We stayed for one week at the smallest cottage and it was an ideal experience in every way. If you have a car or plan on renting a car, you really should consider renting one of the 3 cottages. We'd wake up in the morning and travel west to the highlands, south to the lochs or east to Inverness. Because... more

The cottages are a Paradise in the Highlands. Set in 120 acres of unspoilt Highland crofting land, the cottages at Millness Croft are very well appointed with many special little touches. Although there are 3 cottages, they are well positioned, so you feel as though you are the only ones there. The cottage we stayed in, Fraser Cottage, was well... more

We stayed at Fraser Cottage for Christmas and were lucky enough to get a good dump of snow for the week we were there. It was a winter wonderland. The cottage is wonderful - very private and quiet, with little luxurious details that make a difference. Excellent location for day trips around Inverness - Loch Ness, Fort George, Urquhart Castle... more
