Very attractive and interesting building. Good value for the price. Comfortable, well presented rooms with good en-suite facilities. I stayed here for 11 nights during February and March 2012. I was impressed enough after my first three nights to return. Inspite of being surrounded by main roads, the location is quiet and peaceful. The breakfast is offered free of charge.... More

HASSENBROOK HALL was a beautiful old country cottage set in stanford- le- hope in Essex The guest house was clean and the rooms were big and bright with all mod cons. The owner Mr P Tregunno and his wife were very friendly and I will go back again if Im in Essex. The garden was lovely and I enjoyed my stay... More

The room was booked on a Friday for 4 nights from Monday. The room was compact to say the least but was only £.35 per night with a complimentary breakfast (toast, cereal which you had to do yourself). You couldn't swing a cat in the toilet. The sink was tiny and grimey, the shower also grubby, don't think it's seen... More

My nephew and I stayed one night, to attend a wedding reception in Stanford-Le-Hope. Owner Peter is a relaxed and slightly unconventional character. A master builder, he also has other talents. He obviously loves old buildings (which Hassenbrook Hall is) and is a great appreciator of quality in art, antique furniture and flora. The place is also delighfully unconventional -... More

I must admit to not having researched the Hall before arrival, taking the number from a wedding invite from a friends daughter. On arrival I was most impressed as the place was perfect and just the sort of place I would have chosen. Clean tidy and with all the interesting features you would expect with a building of this age.... More

This is a very old building(1430) and is fantastic! The room was a good size with a very comfortable bed and feather pillows. The en suite was modern and spotless. The breakfast was help yourself with plenty to eat and drink and no time limit on when you had to be sat down. Very welcoming hosts and very pleasant 4... More

Where to start? On arrival we read the sign clearly stating that the establishment was a guest house and not a hotel so we did the correct thing and rang the bell. The door was opened by the owner in a pair of jogging bottoms and t shirt who pointed to the visitors book told us to sign in and... More
