I LOVED Terra Viva!!!!!! The food was wonderful and Gaude (the owner) was very kind to us. We got to put on rain boots and go see the baby cows. Gaude also recommends very good resturaunts and things to do. There was many animals on the farm such as cows-babies and full grown, one pig, and some baby chickens :)... More

This place is definitely quiet, about 10 min. away by car from Santa Elena downtown, which is not a problem if you have a car. The accommodations are not the best but they are comfortable and according to the whole idea of an "hotel-farm". The breakfast was great and our hosts were super nice. We also really enjoyed the dinner... More

This was our first destination in Costa Rica. Having seen mixed reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect. We had a delightful stay. Sra. Muñoz was very friendly and gave us great advice on things to do & places to see (& how to get there). We stayed in the larger cabin and found it clean and comfortable. However, there... More

I recommend staying here; we stayed 3 nights. Federico, Gaudy, and the other staff were so friendly and helpful, arranging meals, making reservations by phone, arranging horseback riding (great deal!), doing laundry, etc. We enjoyed walking the trails and my kids experienced milking a cow and feeding calves. I wish we could have stayed longer and learned more! More

We stayed for 4 nights at Finca Terra Viva, staying in the larger, detached Cabanos which has two bedrooms and a kitchen/living room. Let me start with the great things about Finca Terra Viva: Gaudi, who owns it with husband Frederico, was just delightful - helping us make the most of our stay and organising taxis and trips for us.... This place is not for those seeking luxury. It is basic, out of the way and absolutely beautiful! The owners are wonderful, the food perfectly fine. If you want the experience of being in a working dairy farm, milking cows, drinking the milk directly from the source, riding horses on incredible landscapes and a sample of simple life - this... Had a great stay with "real" locals in Costa Rica. Terra Viva farmstay has lots to offer - beautiful landscape, vast forests, horseback riding, decent rooms, most of all great people ! Stayed for 2 nights. Horseback riding was amazing. Wenth through great scenery. If you are looking for good local experience, peace and non-commercial stay Terra Viva is the... More

Wonderful place. Got to milk cows and feed baby cows, really unique experience. There is nothing to do at night, but that was kinda nice. I was on my honeymoon so the lack of anything distracting was a special time for us to talk and... The breakfast was free but was just bread and jam, nothing cooked. We didn't try... More

Hmmm. I must say, I’m surprised by some of the negative reviews regarding Terra Viva. I recently visited this pristine location in the beginning of July, looking to have a unique experience on a dairy farm. During the five days I spent on the farm, I think the most powerful part of my stay was having the opportunity to explore... More

I went with my sister-in-law & my elderly mother to Costa Rica & we decided to spend a night at Terra Viva to experience something different. We got there in the evening & were met by Mrs Munoz, very friendly, and shown to our cabin. While it was fairly clean, the room was full of bugs because the windows had... More
