The accommodation high point of our time in Costa Rica. A rustic cabin, with a great view from the balcony, useful little kitchen, and nice touches like some beer, water and juice in the fridge (for purchase but at reasonable rates). However the difference between very nice and excellent was the owner - Reina. She was incredibly helpful as soon... More

This isn't the grandest or most central accommodation but if you want a rustic home away from home, then this is perfect! We had a 2-floor family house to ourselves - it was completely private which we loved. It's only 5-10 mins from Santa Elena but you will need a car. Reina the host is lovely & booked all our... More

We stayed here for two nights during our honeymoon and despite reading lots of the glowing reviews before booking it still exceeded our expectations. Reina was a wonderful host and even had a beautiful bouquet of flowers from the grounds in our room because she knew it was our honeymoon. We had a general idea of what we wanted to... More

If I could give more stars, I would. The hospitality is not comparable to any place I have ever stayed. Reina and Leo made us feel like family. We sat down everyday and had the best breakfast ever while conversing with the family. The two cabins we stayed in during our 3 nights were very clean and comfortable. Reina also... More

I stayed here for one night a few weeks ago. Even before we arrived Reina was great at giving us information about tours of local attractions and then coordinating a tour for us of the Monteverde cloud forest. Her responses were always prompt and helpful. When we arrived, we arrived later in the evening and she helped us find a... More

Recently my family (my husband, me and my two boys, 6 and 9 years old) stayed one night at Cabanas Valle Campanas. It was a wonderful and we all felt too short a stay. Reina, Leo and their kids made us feel like a family. First afternoon Reina gave us a tour of her farm, made us a sugar cane... More

We stayed in one of the small cabins for two nights during Semana Santa and it was our favorite place we've stayed in the three months we've been here! The private cabins are rustic and charming while at the same time having everything you need, including safe, hot water, kitchen, and balcony with hammock and extra blankets. We loved getting... Drove into Monteverde with my 3 teenagers and stayed 3 wonderful nights here. Our host Reina helped me set up all our tours we wanted before arriving from Canada, and she gave excellent advice on activities and local restaurants in Santa Elena. Her farm property was loved by us. Reina's family was making brown sugar during our stay and we... More

On our springbreak trip to Costa Rica my wife, 2 kids, 6 and 9, and myself had the pleasure to stay with Reina, Leo and family. We were here for 2 nights and wish we would have stayed longer. We arrived late afternoon to a very welcome and relaxing greeting after a drive up from San Jose. We were then... More

We returned to Costa Rica this year for Spring Break, and my kids demanded that we return to Valle Campanas. Our first visit was excellent, and this visit, if anything. was ever better. The accomodations are great, but the warm welcome and assistance provided by Reina and her family is beyond compare. It felt like we were staying with family.... More
