Most of the hotels in Monteverde Santa Elena are crowded together, but the Cala Lodge is located a bit outside and has a serene setting. Loved the Calla Lilly motive. We stayed three nights at Cala Lodge. The staff are very helpful in arranging daily activities with great guides. Every day starts with a great breakfast prepared and served by their friendly staff. Lovely and calm hotel, which is close to nature. Nice rooms and good breakfast, very friendly hosts. One of the best places we have stayed in in Costa Rica, defintely would visit again! It’s small, extremely friendly, just enough outside of town to make you feel like you are deep in the wilderness, yet you can still walk to stores, restaurants, and downtown.
