Both a colleague and I stayed overnight and dined in the restaurant too. The service and friendliness of the staff was superb. Yes granted the inn is old and full of history so your not going to get a state of the art bedrooms but boy are they clean and full of character. Lovely comfy bed, fluffy towels and widescreen... Nice and busy on a Sunday lunchtime with a mixture of couples, families & friends. Friendly staff, conservative Sunday Lunch Menu, good range of ales. Food was hot and tasty, service was relatively quick. Only minor complaint was that we could have done with a spot more veg.

Had a meal here last night ,all I can say is SUPERB from the start ! I had Sword Fish and this with the sauce it was served with was devine. There were 6 of us and every meal was faultless . The staff were polite and friendly and all the meals were served at the same time, unlike some... More

Just make an average and no more. Nice enough bar and the interior of the Inn has enough character. We were B & B and were using the place as a base to go to the Races, which is only 5mins drive. No taxis were available to take us and so the restaurant manager kindly offered to drive us there,... More

We visit here regularly for food and have eaten both in the restaurant and bar, but we do prefer the relaxed atmosphere of the bar. Dont expect table service on every occasion in the bar, if the restaurant isn't busy the waiters will offer table service. The food is very good and the staff are always friendly, the only negative... More

We stayed on a Friday night for a quick break after work. It's a nice place with a friendly atmosphere but the food was cold when it arrived. The staff were very helpful and there were a lot of them but the service was a little slow. The room was nice, but cold during the night with no extra bedding... More

The hotel staff were very welcoming. Unfortunately the rooms have not been updated. The worst features were the bed and the shower. The wardrobe and units were virtually full of spare hotel bedding and cleaning materials when we arrived. A lot of TLC is required to bring the hotel up to standard.

Stayed one night at The Dun Cow. Excellent breakfast, very accommodating, friendly service, rooms a little tired but clean. Good value. Sedgefield is a nice town close to A1. We did not have diner here but it looked popular with an extensive menu for lunch and diner. Car park behind the hotel.

Went for a meal here with friends. Had heard excellent reviews and after the Sunday lunch I was served I would agree and go much further. Sunday lunch itself was beautiful. The restaurant had a great selection of food and vegetarian options. Good ales on tap and service was quick and friendly. Will definite go here again when I'm in... More

We have just returned from a three day stay in Sedgefield and although we didnt actually stay at The Dun Cow Inn we ate here for two of the three nights and I have to say the food was delicious. Its a little bit pricier than some places but its well worth the extra. I f we go to Sedgefield... More
