We stayed at this hotel in a family room which is extremely near to the outside bar area. When we arrived back to our room at about half eleven that night it was to about 100 people outside in the bar area. The noise was so bad that we basically waited until 1.30am till everyone had gone before we could... More

I met some old friends for dinner at the kings arms. The food was delicious and the service very attentive without being overbearing. We all had a lovely evening. We stayed the night in very nice room with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast next morning was once again a very enjoyable experience. Would definitely stay here again and would... More

We visited the Kings Arms restaurant for Sunday lunch, there were four of us with one being a vegetarian. The décor of the restaurant is very stylish and comfortable; unfortunately the food and the service let them down as below: • We each kicked off with a Bloody Mary, these were served in tiny glasses (prob 6 – 8oz at... Stayed in an annex room #15, (converted garage?), very nice decor, comfy bed, nice bathroom. However it was very noisy, we stayed Saturday night lots of noise outside til late, at 0630 Sunday morning we were woken by someone (staff?) doing lots of walking on creaky floorboards/stairs for ages. No parking at hotel, which wasn't made clear on booking. Reasonable... More

Thank you for your comments. As a town centre hotel there is inevitably some noise from outside, and due to the building being grade II listed there has been minimal change to the structure itself. We can assure you that our staff undergo continual training and make every effort to ensure a guest's comfort both during a stay in the... More

We stayed in this hotel and was kept awake until after 2 a.m. whilst the staff in the flat opposite the hotel played very loud music (I didn't realise they were staff until the morning after or I would have complained on the night). We were then woken up at 7 a.m. when staff emptied bottles into the recycling bins.... More

A meal with friends - the waiter was quite rude to me whilst ordering my food, which I have to say was overpriced for what it was (quite basic) . I eat out several times a week and I have eaten much better flavoured and better cooked food for half the price. The wine was good, atmosphere ok, desserts poor.... More

I stayed for two nights recently. I chose to stay in Berkhamsted as I was visiting friends and family in London but did not wish to stay in the city. I was recommended to try the Kings Arms by friends who had stayed in the past. The room was perfect, it had great character, nice and spacious with a good... More

A good base for us to do the Berkamstead Half Marathon. The hotel was very accommodating with early check-ins and late check-outs. Service was friendly and food was done well. Only complaint was the noise as there was a function that ran until late into the night. All in all, a good stay. More

Stayed two nights. Staff friendly and pleasant. Risotto superb. Caesar salad had all the right ingredients not necessarily in the right order. Dressing very gloopy. Breakfast good. The rooms are large and characterful though those on the front are noisy due to wetherspoons next door - late night music and early morning deliveries, with no concessions to times. Better soundproofing... More

had a meal in there tonight. As I am first time customer let me say WOW, I was treated more like a guest in a friends home than a customer in a restaurant. Service was great and the food was excellent. The bone marrow starter was melt in your mouth. Have never seen that on a menu and just loved... More
