The Diphlu River Lodge in Kaziranga is situated out to the small river Diphlu, which runs through the Kaziranga National Park. It consists of bungalows on stilts amidst rice paddy. Each bungalow is made in local style and with the use of local materials, very charming, and with the facilities a modern hotel room must have. The food was very... More

We recently spent 4 nights at DRL where we found a great group of people who really look after you. We were there to experience the National Park that is close to the property. We had cottage #5 which is at one end and not overlooked. The veranda looks over the small Diphlu river. The food and service was excellent... More

After long drives fro the airports, (Johat 2 hours, Guwahati 5 and half hours), a blissful welcome with a cold drink and face towel. Luxuriously appointed rooms surrounding rice paddy make for a haven for the traveller and wildlife enthusiast alike. All 'mod-cons' are there, and the meals, buffet style are great. Attentive staff go quietly about their business, and... More

We had a fantastic trip to Kazaranga and the Diphlu River Lodge was a perfect place to stay. Our room looked at at the river and it was fun to watch the action going up and down. The host was great and our guide was amazing. After being in Kahna and Bandhavgarh and going on 12 game drives in was... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We wanted the experience of the bungalows, the wildlife and we got it. Whilst, it could be seen as pricey for some, it was a package with our whole trip and we didn't even notice it. The team of people of people working there worked well together and were very accomodating. We were there... More

We stayed at DRL for three nights in December 2012 and it was an outstanding experience. There are 12 cottages of which 1-4 overlook farmland and 5-10 overlook the Diphlu River, with Cottage 5 having the best view of the river. The room is very well done - the typical Assamese Bamboo look, and every small thing taken care off...three... More

Comfortable bungalow overlooking the river. Lots of birdlife in the lodge compound. Great driver and guide for our Kaziranga game drives. Nothing too much trouble. Food allergies catered for. You can hear the main road from the bungalows, but it is mainly background noise. Saw a huge amount on the game drives, including tiger cubs, one horned Rhino and Hoolock... More

We stayed at Diphlu River Lodge for 4 nights in February. The lodge consists of one luxury tent, 8 private bungalows, and 6 semi-private bungalows. It is located right off the main highway so it is not as secluded and quiet as we expected; lots of horns honking at all hours; we wore ear plugs at night. You are warmly... More

The best jungle river lodge we have experienced in 35 years of travel. Oberoi standard without the pretensions. Relaxed atmosphere, well trained attentive but discreet staff. Fabulous food(best on our two month trip). Luxurious but authentic accommodation, environmentally empathetic - great beds. We would recommend a four night stay - lots to do around the area including, of course, jungle... More
