Last June I reviewed this place after enjoying a family weekend. I gave it a really good write up and I'm delighted to say that this weekend was every bit as good. The rooms are excellent: mine appeared to have had a recent makeover as the bath etc looked brand new. Wonderful shower! The staff are very obliging: plasters for... More

Four of us booked in for one night in October. The scenery as you travel down the lanes to the hotel is breathtaking! The hotel looks welcoming. On arrival we could not find the Reception Area. We knocked on the kitchen door, were warmly greeted and taken to our pleasant rooms. In the afternoon we walked to Pateley Bridge which... More

The Sportsman's Arms is a privately owned & run, albeit slightly quirky "Yorkshire" country hotel, and this comes through, not being your twee chain hotel norm, which for us was part of the enjoyment & attraction. We spent a grown up family weekend at the hotel starting 7th Oct to celebrate my 60th Birthday. The Hotel and Staff went out... More

Attended the restaurant on Friday 7th October after deciding to visit based on the reviews here on Trip Advisor. Booked at the very last minute and arrived literally half an hour after booking. The hotel is very impressive from the outside and situated in beautiful surroundings. Inside a small but cosy bar area awaits with real fires to keep you... More

Reception or lack of it is unprofessional. Bedroom 4 is ordinary and cramped (tub chair and luggage rack crammed into an unusable corner), The bathroom is good EXCEPT it was spoilt by cracked basin and window. Not worth £120 a night. Dinner was not cheap but at least the food was EXCEPT it is taking the mickey to charge £8.00... More

lovely location ideal for walkers.we were put in an outside annexe ,a barn conversion with a large window overlooking fields and woods fantastically good for a quiet night, which was just as well because the hotel seemed to be extremely quiet after about 8.30pm when the diners had left, there was no impression of it being a local bar and we had... Do not take too much notice of previous negative reports on this hotel. It is a quality place in a beautiful setting and whilst we did not meet the owners, Firat Bulut and the rest of the staff looked after us wonderfully well and we enjoyed a good meal in the bar this evening. We can also judge a place by the... Great location in Nidderdale but arrived at 'reception' which involves knocking on a kitchen door and the smell reminded one of school dinners. Shown to room by lady who we did not see again and room was in annexe which was small and sparsely furnished with tiny TV in corner. We had asked to bring our dogs and it may... More

A bit underwhelmed at the reception or lack of it, hanging about in a passageway waiting for someone to come out of the kitchen. Not the best of starts. Room only average for a high class establishment. Food and service faultless and comfort of the beds was exquisite. The lounge is a bit tired and uninviting. Could do with a... More
