Food really good, decent selection of beers lovely welcome. As the title suggests a good village pub. More

Stayed just the one night after a family wedding. Really lovely inn. Cosy room, very well appointed. Noticed a previous comment about tea/coffee facilities in room not being easy to get to. That's because it's a lovely old building with lots of features and I think it all fits in really well. We were welcomed and shown to our room... More

We stayed at The Bull Inn in Charlbury in October 2011 taking two rooms for two nights. The rooms were a decent size, well decorated and had real charm. Our room had a good size bathroom that was clean but showed a bit of wear and tear but nothing that detracted from our stay. We also found that there was... More

Stayed at the Bull a while ago, decided to call in on the way home after a lovely day visiting Blenheim Palace. Just supper. Just the three of us. Meals did not start until 6.30. We could order from the menu to get ahead if we wanted to do, so we did. Soup, fish and chips, rump steak and chips.... More

Good size room and very clean. Coffee making tucked away in corner of room and awkward to get at, no decaff. Owners and staff very friendly and efficent. Food was excellent both in the restaurant and in the bar. Breakfast was good but portions could have been a bit bigger. The pub is in the centre of the village (although... More

My husband and I recently attended a wedding in Oxfordshire and were short on time to find a place to stay in the area overnight. The Bull Inn was one of few places that answered their phone after 8:00pm and accepted a reservation without hassle. I'm pleased they did. When we arrived, we were greeted by woman and gentleman who... More

We tried to eat at this hotel. Staff were rude and after an hour of waiting for our food to arrive we left. The owner said it was on the 'pass' after 30 mins, then they were just waiting for the chips. Eventually she said our food had been served to someone else and they hadn't now cooked anything for... Our 4th stay at The Bull. We have used The Bull as a staging post for Blenhiem, Bourton on the Water, and Oxford and still lots of towns to see in the Cotswolds on future visits(including taking the train to London from Charlbury) We always eat at The Bull in the evenings of our stay, and it has never disappointed(we... We turned up at the Bull inn, (7 of us), looking for good food, good atmosphere, and a relax after a busy day doing the touristy thing, Perhaps we weren't dressed well enough, Or our accent wasn't right, Or even our hair wasn't groomed to the taste of the lady behind the bar,. Our simple question was, "Do you have... More

Work takes me to this part of the world two or three times a year, and I have now stayed with Alix and Stuart and their team on five occasions for two or three nights each time. The food is excellent (some of the best bacon at breakfast, and best steak for dinner, that I have ever eaten anywhere), good... More
