The bar at The Anderson is a wonderful place to spend an evening....log stove, cheery atmosphere, friendly staff, big menu, absolutely fantastic food and a massive selection of beers. Very worn and tired room. Ditto bathroom. OK, I can live with that, but ... the restaurant was no better. They managed to serve a local venison which was tougher than my shoe soles. Had a two night stay at The Anderson, it wasn't long enough!! The hotel is cosy and eclectic with wonderful food and the biggest array of whiskies and beers to suit all tastes. A huge breakfast with the best black pudding we have ever had sets you up for a dolphin watching boat trip. Beware the Thursday night quiz though!... more

We ate at The Anderson restaurant whilst staying a couple of nights at a nearby B & B in Fortrose. We enjoyed our meal so much that we booked for the following night and it did not disappoint. Agree with the other reviews - great, friendly place - about to go in for dinner so can't comment on dinner yet but it looks good. Stayed here again in June - I think it was Room 8 we had - anyway the one at the end of the corridor, with the 1930s style furniture and the sleigh bed.
