Over priced but in a wonderful location, and thats what you pay for here. Basic accommodation, basic , overpriced food, and as soon as you have a dietary requirement, expect "the vegetarian" option. A talentless chef, a miserable russian waitress who, the next time she does smile, will break her face. Everything extra here, and vastly over priced compared to... More

My wife and I stayed at Kennicott 15 years ago and loved it so much that when we were planning our family trip to Alaska with our two boys for this past summer, Kennicott was the one MUST DO location. We were not disappointed! First off, it's not as remote as it used to be. 15 years ago, the road... More

We stayed in Chitina the night before so we could get up early & do the 60 mile drive on the gravel/mud McCarthy Road to the footbridge across the Kennicott River, where we'd get a ride to the lodge. The road is an old railroad passage that went back to the historic Kennicott Mine.Found out rental agencies won't insure you... More

We did not stay in the lodge, but we ate lunches and dinners there. The food was great - rustic, wholesome and plentiful portions. The lunch menu is small but very tasty. We particularly enjoyed joining the regular guests for the large, family-style set menu dinners the lodge provides each night. During the day they will post the evening,s menu,... More

This is the most beautiful place. Surrounded by mountains and glaciers and must drive 60 miles on a gravel road that takes 3 hours each way. There won't be many people there. Its rugged yet beautiful. We have been to every state and couldn't decide where we wanted to get married. Didn't want the cliche beach wedding on an island... More

We knew what we were getting into when we booked at the older part of the Kennicott Glacier Lodge - basic room, no phone, no TV , cold water at the sink in the room and shared toilets and showers. So, the accommodations were no surprise. If you feel that you need more amenities, book a room in the new... More

What a wonderful place to stay. The staff is great and the views are out of this world. No TV or cell service, it is what an Alaska lodge should be. The food is family style, lots of it and very good. Take advantage of the lunches they will make for you when you go hiking. You will not be... More

We stayed 3 days at this lodge and loved every minute of it. I flew my own plane in from Anchorage. (I hear the drive in is horrible) and were promptly picked up and taken to a great dinner even though we had missed the main seating they made us an extra table and stayed late to serve us. The... This hotel is by far the best place I've stayed in Alaska! The food alone with knock your socks off. The view is breathtaking. The service is superb! And, there is so much to do here with the National Park. Worth every penny I spent and I'd love to go back again. CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN and the meals were the... More

This is a great location to spend your time in the Kennicott area. Our family of four (9 & 12 year olds) loved this spot just a couple of hundred yards from the mill itself. One could spend hours just reading all the history on the walls of this great lodge. Great staff, good food with a great view. More
