We spent two nights here last July and could not be happier with the experience. The owners and staff were wonderful and made sure all our needs were met. The food was fantastic to say the least. Being 70 miles from nowhere they more than met our expectations. The mill had been closed down due to restoration but we visited... More

Visited Kennicott Glacier Lodge in August 2012- stayed multiple nites in the new building with private bath. stayed one nite in the older building with shared bath. Both were somewhat basic but were quite adequate. There were never any problems accessing the bathrooms and showers. Lodge is in the old mining town of Kennicott within the confines of Wrangell-St.Elias National... More

The folks at Kennicott Glacier Lodge will welcome you with great hospitality, good food and enjoyable company. You will meet interesting people from around the world at the family style dinners. We did not have any waiting problems with the showers down the hall. The view from the porch and lawns is incredible. The parking and transportation arrangements from the... More

"Welcome to the End of the Road" is what one of the local folks said to us upon our arrival. This place is way off the beaten path and a little challenging to get to. We stayed in the new building which has private baths. Even the new rooms are large but quite basic (no TV, no WiFI which available... More

If you want to escape the normal routine for a little while, this might be the place. Really nice lodge in the middle of Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. Very comfortable lodge. Good dining, served family style with a set menu. Wi-Fi in & near the hotel lobby and family room, but not in the guest rooms. Two main parts to... More

The lodge is interesting and we enjoyed sitting on the veranda looking at the glacial moraines. We have only a superficial interest in the mining history and I felt that Kennecott should pay to clean up the mess they left rather than have the government do it. But that's a separate issue. The lodge (new building) was clean and comfortable.... More

We're Alaskans and have lived in various parts of Alaska for much of our lives. We know rural Alaska and just had never had the time to go to Kennicott----I expected to be going for the historical sites. The quality of the lodge was a surprise----even though I'd read the glowing reports I wasn't prepared to feel pampered. The staff... More

We 'discovered' KGL completely by accident as our confirmed booking at a nearby facility was inadvertently lost. So we were put up for 2 nights at KGL & we absolutely loved it. The staff are so friendly, the food is the best, and the scenery is out of this world. Our room was in the new part (south wing) on... More

I can't say enough about this lodge. Just beautiful. Family style dining for dinner makes for great conversations with people from all over the world. Staff was outstanding. The decor is items from the all over the mine. If your history buff,a lot to look at. The rooms were spotless. Just remember if you want a private bath, to ask... More

3 night stay: July 25-27, 2012. It is interesting to reread the reviews of Kennicott Glacier Lodge, now that we’ve stayed there. People have such different expectations! We just wanted to visit Wrangell-St. Elias Natl Park, and a Google search turned up the KGL. Without doing more than a cursory look at the review results, I booked 3 nights stay... More
