We were so looking forward to staying at Awaroa Lodge after our 21 km walk from Anchorage. The whole area is stunning and while a wonderful way to end to a great few days in the Abel Tasman we couldn't help but feel ripped off. The rooms were very expensive, for a standard room we paid $395.00 for two and... More

We came from Sydney to hike the Abel Tasman for 4 days. In between the 4 days, we relaxed ourselves in Awaroa Lodge for 2 nights. We found our standard room very comfortable and dismissed the upgrade offered by the reception (which is $50/day on top of an already pricey room rate) The lodge is in a secluded position, has... We had heard about Awaroa from two friends who traveled to NZ at different times. We were seeking a fabulous, peaceful luxury experience at an eco-lodge to end our three week trip in New Zealand. Awaroa was spectacular! Our suite was beautiful, and nothing was better than sipping a glass of wine in total quiet on our deck overlooking the... More

There is a magical harmony here between the amazing natural surroundings of the park and the rustic charm of the lodge. We enjoyed a two night stay here in middle of March 2012. Our villa was in the new section and was spacious, clean and comfortable. Given that this property is in such a remote location, the level of services... More

The water here is pristine and so clear, a perfect place to totally relax. The lodge is in the most perfect setting. The food is nicely presented and the service freindly. I would have no hesitation to tell anyone that I know to go there, the place is unique!!!!! More

One of the most popular hiking destinations in Abel Tasman Park, Awaroa Lodge can be accessed by light plane, helicopter and boat. Otherwise – you have to hike in. By boat, you arrive on an expanse of pristine golden beach. Then, the quad bike comes to fetch your bags and it's a short walk through native bushland to the reception... More

In 1999 I visited Awaroa Lodge and hoped to come back. Happy I did. Three nights and many walks behind me; thank you for the great service. More

Upon arriving we were immediately offered an upgrade for $50.00 a piece which would allow us to have electricity and hot water when we wanted it, otherwise it was to be turned off between 10:30pm and 7:00. There was no mention of this when I booked the room. The food was very disappointing and ridiculously expensive for what you got.... More

These two ladies stayed here at the same time as the reviwer of 20th November. The two reviews show completely opposing viewpoints of the Lodge. Tony, my front office manager is furious. The ladies booked a standard room, these have one queen double and one single bed, so Tony offered them an upgrade to a Superior villa suite for $50... More
