We are on a canal holiday so this pub was very handy. Very clean, friendly with nice homely English food which was very tasty and very reasonable. Would definitely go back.

We stayed here recently for a night following a family party organised in the Pub next door. Having read previous reviews we were a little apprehensive, especially as the rooms had been booked for us.
Our fears did not come to fruition, the rooms although basic were clean and warm. There had obviously been a recent make-over of the accommodation....

I stayed here with 3 colleagues for over 5 months and I've got to say, This isn't a nice place to stay. Don't get me wrong it says what it does on the tin and for 4 blokes working outdoors it meets our needs, but for anyone else I wouldn't recommend it.

Woodchip wallpaper, artex, everyone shares the bathroom, wet/damp walls, no heating, lights that don't work (oh well! said the staff member), no evening meals(realised afterwards how lucky we were there), cheap furniture, cold water.
