This was my second stay at the Athena - and if anything, this visit was better than the first! It is a family run hotel and it was truly lovely to be remembered by everyone and given such a warm welcome once again. It is a typical Greek small hotel in bungalow style - but is by far the best... If you are not an animal lover and you don't mind a predominenetly German focused hotel environment then this is probably the hotel for you! those two key points or the focus of my review: Clean, friendly and in a fabulous location with 5/10 mins stroll to the centre and sea front bars and restaurants. Hotel with predominently German guests... More

We wanted a honeymoon destination that had sun, sea and good food and that's exactly what we got! Athena hotel isn't that fancy but just right for relaxing in. We split our time between the pebble beach, which is less than a minute from the hotel, and the pool. The pool is really clean and pretty with a little bar... More

During our VERY short stay at this hotel, we were screamed at (and I do mean SCREAMED at) by the person "manning" the pool and the pool bar in front of all the other guests. My 53-year old husband had simply stepped into the pool from the edge, which was apparently against "the rules". We absolutely realise the reasons for... More

The garden of the hotel is so beautiful, with lots of flower, cactus and banan-trees. The room was big, but the fridge and the air condition only for plus pay! The room and the bathroom was clean, the charwoman brought new powels and she cleaned each days our room. The breakfast was opulent and fine. The owner's of the hotel... More

A very hospitable hotel with helpful and welcoming staff, a pool with snack bar with wonderful views over the mountains, clean rooms and reasonable breakfast. It is just over the (quiet) road from the beach and within easy walking distance of everything you need - tavernas, shops, bars, bus stop, taxi rank etc. A very relaxing place to be, all... More

The Athena Hotel is wonderful the staff especially George (Owner) and Jutta (Pool Bar) are brilliant, thank you. The beach is just across the road from the hotel and is pebbles. There are many bars and restaurants to choose from close by and the port is gorgeous. The restaurant we really liked was the Restaurant Mythos (Debbie thank you for... More

The Athea Hotel is very nice, set in well maintaned gardens, with an excellent pool area (the person running the pool bar, has an excellent sense of humour & loads of energy), there are plenty of sunbeds available. The rooms are quite basic but adequate and are cleaned well every day. The breakfast is quite basic, but all Greek breakfasts... More

Just returned from one weeks holiday in Kokkari, staying at the Athena Hotel. On arrival the owners were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. We were offered a room with double bed which we gratefully accepted. However when we got to the room we were disappointed with the size of the room and baclony. There was barely room to walk around the... More
