We recently returned home after two and a half weeks in the northern part of the South Island of NZ. The Blue Moon was one of the best B&Bs we stayed in. It is very spacious, quiet and private. Jane is a great host. Riwaka is not the most exciting place but it is a great base from which to... More

Thanks very much for your review and I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. Yes Riwaka's not "exciting", which is exactly why it's quiet and relaxing and a lovely place to stay whilst exploring the area :-) Hope to see you again one day if you come back to the area. All the best. Jane. More

This is one of the best B&B we stayed in during our 3 weeks trip across the 2 islands. The place is amazingly peaceful, decorated with a lot of taste and creativity, full of light (although we stayed in Oct and it was raining all day). Jane a wonderful host, very discrete and cares a lot about your well being.... More

We stayed for three nights over Christmas and the Blue Moon was excellent. Jane was really helpful and friendly and the breakfasts were great too. Lovely big room, comfy bed, great outside space and table etc plus a ridiculously big bath and shower! Jane was really kind and thoughtful with little extra touches we weren't expecting which really made our... More

The blue Moon is just a bit different in all the right ways. A lovely large space to chill out - so much more than just a hotel room. More

You could not wish for a more individual accommodation, lovingly designed with flair. The room is vast and the bathroom quite something! Climbing in and out of the sunken bath proved more hilarious than romantic for a couple of oldies. But what a fabulous place for a honeymoon. We'd just left it 40 years too late! Jane provided lovely breakfasts... More

The Blue Moon B & B is rather special. We spent 2 nights there to experience the Motueka area, Abel Tasman Park, etc. Situated in a back road it's very quiet and peaceful with virtually no traffic noise and off-road parking. The guest unit is completely independent and is attached to Kate (the owner)'s home with it's own garden space... More
