A last minute booking for the Ludlow Appartment for the first half term weekend was extremely fortunate. Despite arriving much later than promised we were greeted by Gill on the doorstep and directed to the private parking. The traditional quirkiness referred to in other reviews suited us very well as did the facilities both in the appartment and in Bishops... More

The only person with the same opinion as me reviewed the Clun appartment last June. We have just spent a week there. Lets start on a positive note , free wifi , clean sheets , powerful shower . As for the rest !! No door on the bathroom (the loo faces the bed -(there is a flimsy curtain) , grey,... More

We made the Porch House our home for a week and stayed in the upstairs Clun self-catering apartment. The owners, John & Gill, made us feel more than welcome. Bishop's Castle is an old town and may not be as spashy as nearby Shrewsbury. In many ways, it feels like a step back in time to old rural England. Even... More

Really nice night's sleep. Wonderful old building with lots of interesting period features... Really enjoyed staying here... Very friendly owners... Fantastic pub with Britain's oldest brewery just around the corner... ticked all the boxes really, what more can I say, except thank you for helping to make b&b's such a superb alternative to hotels!!! Excellent service and a very interesting place to stay. We stayed in 'ludlow' for 3 nights and enjoyed it very much. We had no problems at all with noise and everything was as described. The only issue was the shower which was difficult to get hot and the pressure wasn't great but there was plenty of hot water for a... More

Many thanks for your posting. We have taken on board your comment about the shower and have installed a pump so it is no longer a problem. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. More

A beautiful and historic house owned by people who are proud of the work they are doing to preserve it. The house tour from the owner was wonderful, make sure that you don't miss out. The room was warm on a night when the temperature went to -11 outside. A great breakfast with a fine view of the garden. More

The most stunning and interesting BnB to spend a night in. A real treat all round and a privilege to be able to stay there courtesy of the attentive Lucas's. History immerses you as deep as the bath of the Blue Room and reminds you of times past. All the comforts and little touches are there and the gallons of... More

I stayed in the Clun (top) Self Catering apartment for a couple of days. Its a nice yet quirky space, that I imagine is very cosy in the winter as it has a wood burning fire. Not good if you are easily stirred by creaking floorboard or bumps in the night! It was fine for my needs but I think I... More

Thanks for your review of our apartment; being an Elizabethan house it does make it an unusual place to stay and it has been creaking and groaning for over 400 years! It is right in the town centre, great for easy access to pubs and restaurants but that can mean it is a little noisy until 11pm; 10.30pm on Sundays,... More

we stayed for a week in the self catering Clun apartment with the open log fire and wooden floors. it is wonderfully comfortable yet seems to take you back to another time when england was slower and quieter bishops castle is the same, set on a hill that would make you want to defend the castle at the top the... A fantastic half timbered bed and breakfast - with two suite style bedrooms upstairs - the blue room (facing the hills) and the red room (facing the street - though the town is generally quiet so noise is not a problem). We stayed in the blue room which has a massive bath - a small sitting area (with maps, magazines... More
