This was my second visit and first for my wife and brother in-law. We enjoyed the facilities, especially swimming pool. The staff were always trying to please us and going out of their to help. We ended up staying during one of the national bund day. The breakfast was good. We enjoyed the supper as well. There was a big... More

Like other travellers we chose this hotel for its proximity to the Kerala Kamandalam. We definitely enjoied the quiet location, but otherwise the hotel has not much to offer. Our so called Palace Chamber was equipped with a king size bed and it had the thinnest mattress we had encountered on our whole trip. Furthermore, there was no warm water... More

We had a one day stay at this heritage resort hotel. They provide all standard facilities that we expect from a resort. Felicities include restaurant, gym, indoor games, ayurvedic treatment, spa, swimming pool and a park for children to play. Restaurant is good but food was poor. Bad service. More

We stayed here for three nights because it is conveniently located near Kerala Kalamandalam. The location is pleasant, and we enjoyed watching the activities on the river from our river view room. The room was OK, although it had it's eccentricities: the lighting in the bathroom was very odd - the light was BEHIND the mirror, making it difficult (ironically)... More

We stayed here for a night because we needed a place to break up our trip between Wayanad and Kochi, and it was perfectly serviceable, but nothing more than that. The room was clean but smelt strongly of cleaning products, and was significantly more expensive than a few of the other places we had stayed in elsewhere in Kerala, but... More

This hotel is on the outskirts of a very shabby town (even by Indian standards) and the hotel is not out of place. The room I was allocated had very little natural light, you couldn't read during the day without a light on. There are plenty of power cuts. The back garden which could be really nice has an old... While looking for quiet getaway in Kerala during the peak tourist season in December, we chanced upon landing on the River Retreat website. With a meagre budget and unwillingness to travel too far from my hometown in Kerala, we decided to take a chance at this relatively unknown place thats between Shornur and Thrissur. Initially, we had booked for the... More

A shabby, dirty, empty hotel, falling to bits at the height of the season. When we arrived, we actually couldn't find anyone to book us in for a good 20 minutes, and when we did finally find someone, we were given a tiny, dark room with a view of the car park, despite the fact that the main building seemed...
