Location is perfect, a cogs throw from the Mtb trails. Staff are lovely and helpful. Hotel could have been a little better set up for bikers though. The web address is www.mountainbikeaccomadation.com but the facilities simply consist of a shed and a hose. Drying rooms I thought would be essential, but we had to dry out wet muddy clothes in... Stayed jst after Christmas so the place was quite quiet, and the weather a constant misty rain - not the Lodge's fault though! When the rain cleared the lovely view from our room was the winding valley bordered by steep pine forest mountains. Rooms are basic but clean and equipped with a flat screen tv with DVD player and the... More

what a great little place! Set in the very pretty former industrial Llynfi Valley, this friendly place is surrounded by Pine forests and could easily be mistaken for Switzerland! There are lovely little places to visit nearby inculding an outdoor theatre, outdoor pursuits centre and Margam House and Park. The food is lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful.... More

Stayed for a long weekend of mountain bike riding with group of 8 friends. It is the perfect set-up: great facilities, comfortable rooms, excellent food and really friendly service. As an added bonus there is no need to drive to the trail centres as they are only 10 mins ride away. By far the best place to stay I have... More

The Apple Crumble and custard which I had nearly every evening was absolutley fantastic and highly recommend it, just what my body needed! As others have said only... More

I'm reviewing after my second weekend stay at the lodge in the last two years. I booked on both occasions for a mountain bike group of around ten guys. The lodge is perfectly situated between the two trail centres and a simple zip down the garden and early morning challenge of riding down the steps and over the bridge starts... More

Accommodation is clean and basic, and was great base for mountain biking on the superb local trails. Staff were excellent - very helpful, and even got up specially at 6am on a Sunday to unlock the secure bike storage for an early-morning sortie. Food in the bar and restaurant was good and reasonable value. Atmosphere was excellent and friendly. This... More

Richard and Louise are exceptionally friendly and have done a great job refurbishing/renovating this hotel. We stayed here for two nights in the most prestigious room (#1 - The Richard Burton room). We then headed off to Brechfa and were so impressed with the lodge that we decided to extend our holiday and stay another night on our way back.... More
