The Wakefield Inn is in a beautiful location on the falls in Wakefield and with it's history and ambience it could be a real jewel. I visited with my wife and my brother and sister in law for a long weekend and we were expecting something of a higher level based on the price. My wife and I travel extensively... More

We stayed here on the occasion of my 40th Birthday. We booked a pricey room, with a river view and Breakfast included. First of all, The Wakfield Mill is a beautiful, historic building in a gorgeous location in a charming town. We love Wakefield and always enjoying visiting. My first impression of the new building , where we were staying,... More

I was a bit disappointed by the room, despite the fact that we had one of the most expensive "nicest" ones. View was beautiful onto the rushing river below, but the decoration and the quality of linens etc was a bit mah. That being said we did have a jucuzzi tub. However given the cost of the package we were... More

Great place for ambiance, live music on Saturday, food fantastic. Only negative comment was the service. We had a great waiter for the beginning of the evening but then there was a shift change and the service definitely lacked. We had to then keep ordering our drinks/food from the bar because the waitress was in no rush to serve. In... More

This inn is situated in the perfect location - right by the water. This makes for nice views during dinner and from your room (if situated on that side). Rooms were nicely decorated, with each one being unique. The small drawbacks are: 1) It's very close to Wakefield, but it's not safe to walk from the inn to town at... More

Dear Jewel, thank you for your recent comments and choosing the Mill for your stay. I would like to address the comments on the darkness of the road. The town experienced a lightning strike a few weeks ago and we have reported the three burnt lights to the municipality. We should have the situation resolved shortly. The town of Wakefield... More

We stayed for 2 nights at the mill, in the newer section. The room was comfortable. NIcely decorated with a great mix of modern and wood. All our meals were good. 2 breakfast 1 lunch and 2 dinner. We had the Discovery menu. The food itself was good, but the timing was a bit off and the order in which... More

Wakefield Mill Inn and Spa is a little piece of heaven only 30 - 40 minutes from Ottawa. The spa facilities are wonderful and the food is spectacular. We had facials in the new eco-spa and then used the outdoor hottub on a cold winters day. We followed our day away with lunch in the main dining room. Food was... More

Just got back last night from a fabulous stay at the Mill. We stayed in the one of the Grand River rooms and it was perfect, with a great view, big comfy bed and I just loved the bath by the window with the fireplace. You have to try the hot tub by the river rooms, we had it all... More
