Don't be put off by the severe external appearance of this hotel. The moment you walk in the whole ground floor exudes warmth and freindlyness. The bar, restauarnt and library [breakfast room and extra sitting space] are boutique in style, well executed and lovely. Gorgeous room! HUGE bed! The service was excellent. The staff were helpful, friendly and engaging - just what you want. The new chef made a great start to his job. The food was delicious. Also - good local beers in the bar. All in all a fabulous short break. Only a short drive from the coast.
