A beautifully maintained historic hotel in a charming town filled with temples and dramatic rock formations. A great option to get off the beaten path a bit but still be pampered. Our room was beautiful, with its own private patio and dressing area. A suite, really. Beautifully decorated. One of the most tasteful places we stayed in India. We opted... More

We (family of two adults and three kids) stayed one night in January. We only wished we had stayed for longer. We were greeted on arrival by the delightful manager ELizabeth who immediatley made us feel at home. We went for a quick hike up the famous rock and had a stroll around the village. Also had massage in the... More

The initial impression is of a beautifully restored historic building in much the same way as an old Spanish Parador. It is an oasis of tranquility in rural Rajasthan and the rooms are very tastefully furnished with anitque furniture. It was cold in January and the provision of hot water bottles was a nice touch. However, the whole experience was... More

This heritage property, exquisitely restored and cared for, is an oasis of calm, beauty, and hospitality in the desert. Located in an interesting town, it has every amenity without pretension. There are courtyards for napping and reading, responsive service if you'd like tea or coffee or your laundry done, and a staff eager to arrange activities. Though it's not inexpensive,... More

This hotel was a class above others we stayed at during our journey through Rajasthan. The rural setting in the shadow of the Narlai rock outcrop is highly unusual and pleasing. Within the hotel is truly elegant and tastefully maintained and decorated. There was an attention to detail here above that of other hotels. The evening meal on the roof... More

My sister & I visited the Rawla Narlai for a 1 night stay on the 15th/16th Jan-12 & were floored by the quaintness of the property and the blue room where we stayed. The decor had an old world charm and it was very relaxing. The staff were considerate & hospitable. The Step Well dinner although very expensive, was quite... More

If you can only feel at home at the Taj or Oberoi, this may not be for you. But if you seek centuries old character, charm and luxury, blended with incredible service, Rawla Narlai is a must do for those seeking a unique Rajasthan experience. Spent 3 days and nights here with our two teenage kids at the end of... More

After 6 days of travelling around Rajasthan we arrived on Christmas Eve for a two day stay with our teenage children. We were greeted by Elizabeth, the General Manager, who was friendly, informative and efficient. We were shown to our rooms in the main part of the hotel which were comfortable with enormous character and quiet. The Stepwell Dinner was... More

We stayed here for 2 nights but wished we could have stayed a little longer. There are 2 English females managing the hotel (since Oct) and the younger of the 2 was a little over bearing but they delivered on everything they promised. To give them credit, they had only been running the place for a few weeks and part... More

I say that as most reviews for Rawla are good, but not this one. The property itself is beautiful including the rooms and service staff, but the management (at that time was English girls) was terrible, the food disgusting, and the 4000 RPS/persos for the Stepwell dinner a complete rip off. I did read in another review that is cost... More
