Stayed 12 nights with boyfriend. Beds were extremely hard, room was dated and had ants. We did buy fresh shrimp at Wal-Mart or Mega, boiled them up and sat on the balcony and ate them. The hotel itself looks nice from the outside, and the gentleman who checked us in was very friendly. The pool area is clean but the rooms are pretty run down. The Starbay was a very nice hotel. It was located right on the beach and was pretty quiet. The bed was a bit hard however. Also we were not impressed with the restaurant. But the town of Bucerias which had lots of restaurants was very close. It can easily be reached by walking 15 or 20 minutes on the beach.... more
