If you want to truly immerse yourself in Sicilian life then C'era una volta certainly delivers. The apartment is immaculately clean, perfectly proportioned (comfortably housed 2 adults and 2 children) and the roof terrace allowed the 4 of us to embrace the day with breakfast freshly procured from the local market. The immediate neighbors are more than friendly and the... More

One upon a time (c'era una volta) there was a magical house set in an enchanted place - and we stayed there! Everything you could need was supplied and there was a beautiful roof terrace where you could enjoy the stunning views. The neighbours made us feel part of the community -so welcoming. Scicli is an unspoilt Baroque masterpiece and... More

Tracy and I stayed at the wonderful C'era una volta in Mid March. The welcome from Francesca and her family was wonderful. As was the house itself. Spotlessly clean - better than some 5 star hotels we have stayed in. Its position in the town is delightful, set in the old part of town amongst the locals. The roof terrace... More

We are a retired couple from Trondheim, Norway, and we are now home after having a 4 week vacation in Sicily in February/March. The first 18 days we spent at C'era una Volta in the wonderful baroque town of Scicli. Our lovely hostess Francesca gave us good advice before leaving home, also that February in Sicily is their winter-time. So... More

My boyfriend and I have just returned from a week at C'era una volta and we are already planning our return. The house itself is wonderful - spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, picturesque and with breath-taking views from the roof terrace. Beautifully renovated house in a charming setting within walking distance of the centre of Scicli. The views from the roof terrace are wonderful - limestone cliffs with old cave houses. Francesca, the owner, could not have been more helpful - she picked us up at the station on arrival, helped arrange car rental & was our 'tourist information centre'. Scicli... More
