Hotel is now having inside renovation and the main pool is to be fixed. You can't use the main swimming-pool. I booked this hotel via agoda.com. The website and Baan talay resort website don't inform guests that there's construction and swimming-pool can't be used until I called them in Samui. The hotel website also have problem. You can't contact them... More

We had a Garden View Room and it was a right size, with coffee/tea maker, small fridge, flat-screen TV, nice-smelling bath products and a cozy terrace. On overall, it looked like it was recently painted/built, so no scratched furniture, stained walls, and no mold. Hotel grounds are very well kept, with several small ponds and lush vegetation. Swimming pool was... More

I think I loved everything about this hotel. The rooms were pretty big, clean and had some proper AC. The pool was great considering at the time of our visit the ocean wasn't exactly fit for swimming. Service was nice, Katy was particularly awesome and the restaurant has a great spot on the beach. My parents visited Koh Samui on... More

Just the right size hotel, while we stayed at the loveliest rooms at the beach front (only 3 of them, worth paying the extra for this). The pool is very pretty and relaxing, though the beach is so accessible, if the weather is nice you might as well be spending your time there. Very friendly staff, happened to be my... More

Accomodation type: Garden View Bungalow Good Stuffs: 1. This side of the beach is much more calm and quiet. If you are looking for a relaxing and less hectic beach, this is good and cheap(er) option and it is not too far from the center. 2. Their dining area is my favourite hang out spot. Great view and shaded. Good... More

The look of the hotel is very tired compared to the hotels located either side which are 5*. We stayed for 8 nights in a superior room facing the wall - which isnt that bad since there's wildlife to watch - birds, lizards etc. Our room had a faulty door however the maintenance man repaired it very quickly, but the... A good and clean resort. The morning breakfast buffet was great. I cannot compare its value to other resorts, as it was my first time on Koh Samui. More

Being my first time in Chaweng, or Thailand for that matter, I didn't quite know what to expect but I was pleasantly impressed by this hotel. We chose to stay in a beachfront bungalow, which was obviously a bit pricier than other rooms, but gave us amazing views of the beach and great sunrise shots. Both the bedroom and the... More

This is a nice hotel with a great pool on the southern part of Chaweng beach. Generally, I do not like Chaweng as it is crowded, a bit run down etc... but the beach is nice here and the hotel/beachfront is calm. We had a pool-facing room, which is good value, and slept four (two adults, two young children). Breakfast... More

The Baan Talay is a cracking little find. It is at the Southern end of Cheweng beach, and is in a very relaxing spot compared with the centre of the beach where the Arc Bar is. The hotel itself consists of only about 44 bungalows in total, so it has that more intimate feel. I had a pool view bungalow... More
