We stayed there on our way back from Portugal to Germany and I have to say that the two nights we planned were far too short. It is a lovely place, decorated, run and maintained with great dedication and a great heart. Benedicte is an excellent host and she knows everything about the region and provides you with every information... More

We had a beautiful and large room with a very good bed, A kitchenroom and a bathroom. Tastefuly furnished and a very good place to stay. A quiet place and a beautiful garden with a peacock family. The breakfast was good, but we missed the cheese and ham. Benedicte is very kind and takes good care of her guests. She... More

Domaine de la Thiau is even MORE beautiful in real life than it is on their website ~ I was deliciously and unexpectedly surprised. I was expecting something interesting, but it is lovelier than I imagined. The hostess, Benedicte was charming and treated us as both part of her family and cherished guests. The home itself was built in the... More

We stayed for four nights and found everything as advertised. Our hostess was not only delightful, but helpful, as well. Her command of the English language was excellent and extremely comforting. The breakfast area is beautiful and serene. It was a joy to share the time with her and her other visitors and observe her pets (a marvelous dog, many... More

Francois is a very friendly and helpful hostess, comfortable and interestingly furnished rooms, delightful grounds complete with a couple of Peacocks and a very friendly Labrador. Good breakfast. Nearby Briare is lovely, not so sure about Gien though! More

We intended to stay one night but the situation, the hotel, the hospitality and the camaraderie of the other multi-national guests encouraged us to stay longer. We could not have had a better overnight stay and will be staying there again as we journey between Spain an UK More

We actually stayed here in early August of 2009 in this lovely home created for weary travelers. Our communications were answered promptly on our enquiry and the booking for a family suite was straightforward. Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised again. The gardens are a treasure and the peacocks wandering through are a sign you are in a special place.... More

On the way at the south of France we had in good luck reserved a Chambre d’Hôte at the Loire, which surpassed at arrival all our wishes . We had an extended cordial welcome by hostess Mme Bénédicte, who with passion, flower and charm is running her Chambres. The Chambre was very attended and the furnishing was particular attractive equipped... More

Our plan was to visit Gien and the Sancerre region which was easy to do from this location. Contrary to the other reviews we have found here, we found the owner to be very warm and welcoming. Conversation with her was most interesting and her advice about the area was considerate and a good fit for us. More
