More

We stayed for three nights with another couple in September 2012 and had a wonderful time. The property is easy walking distance along the Loire towpath (under an hour each way at a fairly leisurely pace) from both Gien and Briare, both of which are worth a visit. The restaurants in Briare, particularly the fish restaurant just round the corner... More

We looked for a nice place to stay for visiting a button exposition in Briare and for a possibility to play golf too. We were very glad to be cordially welcomed by the lady of this beautifull antique country house and the big garden. It was a very pleasant stay with many good advises of the lady for dinner, playing... More

The Domaine itself is a nice cluster of buildings embedded in lovely surroundings -very close to the River Loire. There is a huge fantastic garden belonging to the guest house with access from the conservatory. Unfortunately the condition of the rooms is worn out, the furniture shabby. They need -even with respect to the ancient character of the building- restauration.... More

All the paintings were redone and finished on april, 14, 2012. You even saw that the works were on in the other part of the house....So, paintings are all new from now on. If you don't like the furniture style, why coming to my place ? All pictures on my web site were taken by myself and reflect the exact... More

We stayed there on our way back from Portugal to Germany and I have to say that the two nights we planned were far too short. It is a lovely place, decorated, run and maintained with great dedication and a great heart. Benedicte is an excellent host and she knows everything about the region and provides you with every information... More

We had a beautiful and large room with a very good bed, A kitchenroom and a bathroom. Tastefuly furnished and a very good place to stay. A quiet place and a beautiful garden with a peacock family. The breakfast was good, but we missed the cheese and ham. Benedicte is very kind and takes good care of her guests. She... More

Domaine de la Thiau is even MORE beautiful in real life than it is on their website ~ I was deliciously and unexpectedly surprised. I was expecting something interesting, but it is lovelier than I imagined. The hostess, Benedicte was charming and treated us as both part of her family and cherished guests. The home itself was built in the... More

We stayed for four nights and found everything as advertised. Our hostess was not only delightful, but helpful, as well. Her command of the English language was excellent and extremely comforting. The breakfast area is beautiful and serene. It was a joy to share the time with her and her other visitors and observe her pets (a marvelous dog, many... More

Francois is a very friendly and helpful hostess, comfortable and interestingly furnished rooms, delightful grounds complete with a couple of Peacocks and a very friendly Labrador. Good breakfast. Nearby Briare is lovely, not so sure about Gien though!

We intended to stay one night but the situation, the hotel, the hospitality and the camaraderie of the other multi-national guests encouraged us to stay longer. We could not have had a better overnight stay and will be staying there again as we journey between Spain an UK
