We have stayed here (peaceful location) and eaten in the Meurin restaurant a number of times, enjoying the originality and quality of the food and the comfort of the hotel. This visit the room was fine, but the dinner (4 course table d'hote) did not deliver. Each course apart from the appetiser (delicious oyster in leek cream topped with pickled... More

Go for the food in the main restaurant. It is excellent. The Chateau is also beautiful with very comfortable rooms but nothing much around the area. More

Like another recent review, this one is of the Jardin d'Alice restaurant (the brasserie to the two star, very expensive Meurin restaurant also here). I see that Trip Advisor indexes Meurin, the Chateau and the Jardin d'Alice separately, but this seems where most reviews have been filed. Moving quickly on, on the basis of the experience we had of lunch... More

Two friends had stayed here and loved it - imitation being the sincerest form of flattery, we followed, and even shared their dining options of the simpler Jardin d'Alice on the first night, and the gourmet restaurant on the second. This is French grand'luxe. As Michelin used to say, "prix en conséquence" - especially in the bar, where I draw... More

Stayed in a different standard room, with a bath this time and just as comfortable as before. Having had a good meal at the Le Jardin D'Alice last time we decided to push the boat out and try the 2 star Michelin restaurant Meurin. It was a delight. We went for the set menu with wine, lots of lovely amuse-bouches,........ More

Less than an hour from Calais and in an area I thought was not likely to yield an outstanding hotel and restaurant this hotel could persuade us to alter our system of travelling to the south of France. Definitely worth a visit. We did not try the main restaurant but used the bistro - Le Jardin D'Alice - which was... More

Note: We did not stay at this hotel so this is a review of the restaurant, not the hotel. Le Jardin D'Alice was recommended and booked for us by the proprietar of a nearby B&B (Maison Du Plume) that we stayed at. He assured us we would not be disappointed and we certainly were not! A very nice bright and... More

The wow factor of driving up to the Chateau, were quickly removed. The rooms were lovely, and decorated in boutque style. The "jardin" restaurant was a disapointment. Over-complex, and very heavy, though the serivce was good. The breakfast was also very complex ..... who thought that toffee was a good breakfast item...... it was trying toohard. Busnes is in the... My husband had booked Chateau de Beaulieu as a last minute treat for my birthday. Having read a couple of recent reviews I was a little unsure whether we should change our reservation - how glad I am that we didn't! Our dining experience in the 2 star Michelin restaurant Marc Meurin was truly outstanding - in our opinion coming... More

On the face of it, the Chateau de Beaulieu, on the outskirts of Busnes (pronounced Bewn, by the way), seems like the perfect stopover on the way out or back. It’s a luxury hotel with large grounds, and a two-star Michelin restaurant. That’s why we stayed there. Big mistake. BIG mistake. The previous reviewer, GLx, had it about right: this... More
