This is a rustic guesthouse right in the center of the historical district, on one of the most photographed steets in Sao Luis; very comfortable and very well furnished. It was a great base from which to explore.

This is a very quirky hotel, in the middle of the historic centre in Sao Luis. Location is very good once you are there, but the taxi can only drop you off at the top of a hill where you have to come down some stairs and then go up half a street. This can be tricky if you have...

We were very much impressed by this old mansion that has been renovated, but kept its original charm. In that respect it really is unique. Even the spacious rooms still have the original atmosphere. Staff is friendly and professional. Breakfast was nothing special, and we got a bit annoyed by the (enormous) amount of fruit flies over the breakfast buffet....

When I booked this Inn I was interested in the experience of being in a XIX colonial house and the experience was really amazing. The building was totally renovated without missing its caractheristics and the result is a nice Inn in the middle of the historic center. My room was large (I just have some problems with the key, because...

This hotel is in the heart of the old town and has a lot of charm. Its beautifully styled and the rooms around the internal courtyard are really lovely. It is an old hotel and you can hear a lot of creaks and groans (and perhaps a few little critters) during the night. But, the staff are super friendly and...

this is my first TA 100% happy review. we had a magnificent master room facing the mostly quiet street, smack in the middle of the pleasant historic center. the on premises pizzeria offered the best value dinner and excellent quality pizza and caipirinhas. Free breakfast was okay.
Service was skilled, very attentive and simply excellent. The pousada is a tastefully...

We stayed here for 2 nights, before and after our trip to Lencois Maranhenses. The location is very central, perfect for exploring the old city of Sao Luis, and our rooms which face the inner courtyard, were large, airy and quite quiet in the evenings.
Breakfast was an excellent spread bountiful with different fruits, juices, cakes and pastries and the...

This Pousada has a great potential, but some details needs to be improved...
The building is beautiful, there are some nice sitting areas, the dining room is charming and breakast is tasety...the room we have got (facing the street) was spacious and nice; it is pity that there are some maintenance issues that spoil the experience (like moving tables in...

Pousada Portas da Amazonia is may be not a place where I would stay for 1 week because not so many things to do around the pousada, but for a 1, 2 or 3 nights in Sao Luis when you want to be in the old area, this place is like a jewel for those who like good atmosphere and...

This was a charming experience in a charming old city. Situated in the "old city", it retained much a the charm of colonial Brazil with exposed beams and a delightful inner courtyard. I'd grade breakfast about a B+. I recommend opting for the highest quality room. It's huge, mine overlooking the street with several full length windows that let you...
