We stayed at Tirel Guerin during the August Bank Holiday weekend last year, and it was a perfect anniversary weekend. Great location - close enough to St Malo, but also out in the countryside so you feel like you are getting away from everything. The room was clean and modern, but the real star is the restaurant - this is... More

After a long drive through Bordeaux to reach our hotel, it was a relief to be quickly shown to a beautiful suite towards the back of the hotel. While my husband rested I went in search for a cup of tea and was delighted to be served in the bar to a lovely pot of tea accompanied by a piece... More

Wonderful hotel tucked away from the crowded St Malo and 6 minutes' drive to Cancale for the best seafood ever. Restaurant has a Michelin star. Absolutely love it More

We stay at this hotel about 4 times a year. This is a great place to stay if you're taking the ferry from St Malo but want somewhere away from the hubbub of St Malo itself. It's got a really good restaurant which isn't cheap but the food (particularly their signature amuse bouche) is very good. If you want something... More

We had decided to give the St Malo crowds a miss on an overnight stopover before the ferry. But our first reaction on arriving at the hotel was disappointment. We had though come straight from the Moulin de l’Abbaye at Brantôme, a converted mill surrounded by streams. Maison Tirel Guerin was a distinctive but certainly not a handsome building alongside... Picked this hotel from a Chateaux and Hotels brochure and booked via Hotels.com. Found the hotel ok - assisted by the directions in the brochure, but at check in the reception staff did not have our booking - transpired it had not been passed on by expedia! However the charming staff took a lot of trouble to make us welcome... More

The Tirel Guerin is a fine example of French hospitality at its best. We had a well appointed, bright room opening on to a private garden. It was reasonably priced for this level of hotel. There is a locally renowned restaurant serving traditonal menus. Perhaps the food is not as refined as it has bee in the past. We received... More

This is a good hotel and really worth the price I've payed for, but it is not so good as it could be. The exterior building is very nice, even if a little bit anonymous, it has a large parking and no problem in finding a place for your car, also the hotel itself is very clean and well keeped....
