This hotel is set in a charming isolated spot, high up so has good views all round, and is very bucolic. Indeed all sorts of poultry run round the large garden. Chateau Meracq was a wonderful find close to Pau and for visits to the Pyrenees and Basque county. We stayed 4 nights and felt thorougly pampered and welcome. We had a corner room on first floor with windows on two sides with magnificant views over the gardens and counrtyside. No room numbers add to the feeling you are a guest.... more
