We were there for Donana and the Birds which was just great! The Hotel is perfectly adequate as is the Restaurant but probably all is overpriced for the level of service and ammenities. We arrived at El Rocio at night...after our bus and we were searched by police with drug sniffing dogs, we were off to a dark walk down a dirt 'street'....the only thing we could see were hoofprints....we did find the hotel rather easily with directions from the bus driver, but we looked a bit haggard and weary once we checked... Hotel Toruno is located right at the edge of the marches with all rooms having small balconies and a view of them - bird lovers can start watching the Donana wildlife (best equipped with binoculars) directly from the hotel. Staff was OK. We had a room next to a back street and walkway which got very loud that night for some reason. It was a little difficult to find and the lack of street signs and only sand (I got hung up) did not help. The breakfast was OK, but heavy on the sweets. More
