I spent three nights at this hotel which is tucked away on the edge of Donana NP. The rooms are clean and tidy but space is limited, the bathroom is OK. There are no tea/coffee making facilities within the hotel. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful but their English is very limited. The location is ideal for birdwatchers. The... More

We arrived at El Rocio at night...after our bus and we were searched by police with drug sniffing dogs, we were off to a dark walk down a dirt 'street'....the only thing we could see were hoofprints....we did find the hotel rather easily with directions from the bus driver, but we looked a bit haggard and weary once we checked... Nothing wrong with the place really, just a bit uninspired as a hotel. Fantastic location for birdwatchers. Rooms quite small. Staff friendly. Was undergoing renovations while we were there which did not help. Food at adjacent restaurant average by Spanish standards More

We spent two nights in El Rocio during a tour of Andalucia. Hotel Toruno is located right at the edge of the marches with all rooms having small balconies and a view of them - bird lovers can start watching the Donana wildlife (best equipped with binoculars) directly from the hotel. The room was clean and nice, but nothing special.... More

Staff was OK. We had a room next to a back street and walkway which got very loud that night for some reason. It was a little difficult to find and the lack of street signs and only sand (I got hung up) did not help. The breakfast was OK, but heavy on the sweets. More

The hotel itself was lovely, quite small and quaint and the staff were friendly. We had a room overlooking the lagoon which was great. The only complaint about the hotel really is that you can hear people in the corridors and the rooms are wee bit small, but still comfortable. The town itself is nuts. It´s not paved, but all... Superb location for our birdwatching holiday.I stayed in El Rocio 25 years ago and it has changed very little.Eating in the associated restaurant now enables you to look over the marsh as evening birds come to roost.Hotel comfortable and reasonably quiet.Taverna nearby much less expensive and very welcoming.Photography opportunities best early morning and late evening. First, a correction: This hotel is not in the city of Huelva but in El Rocio, quite some km away (but still in Huelva province). El Rocio is famous for its springtime Virgin pilgrimage attracting 1 million of the faithful. Expect your local souvenir shops to follow a similar theme. The hotel itself is quite charming, good value for the... More

This is a nice but basic hotel which backs onto marshland with lots of bird life. The restaurant is excellent although a bit expensive, but have a splurge. More

The very best hotel in El Rocio because the rear of the hotel looks straight over the winter flood waters of the Doñana nature reserve and, if you ask when booking, you may well get a room hwich looks straight out to many varieties of duck, geese and water fowl. Breakfasts are excellent with as much first class coffee as... More
