Arrived at this hotel yestrerday, it was booked for me by my employer. I was given the keys to a room at the front of the building. As i entered the room the stench of cigarettes was over powering and the base of the small single bed was collapsed and actualy a hazard! I complained and was moved to another... More

I had a single room at the back of the hotel. The TV didnt work at all, the internet didnt work, no hot water, this is just the start. Im glad it was a warm day, as cold shower was suprisingly good. The room was tiny, thats fine, but it was very small and managed to get a caravan cubicle... More

I've just stayed at the Elstree Inn, the room wasn't too bad but the thing that annoyed us the most is the lady in reception, she was very homophobic, never smiled or even spoke polite to me and my girlfriend who I was visiting. We stayed there for 3 nights, only checked out this morning. I definitely won't stay there... More

Let me start by saying - it's cheap! So maybe you get what you pay for... However, a smally, dirty room with a large single bed (they called a double) charged at £45, isn't the best deal out there... The staff are unhelpful and rude. The window in my room was broken and wouldn't shut. It was howling outside, freezing... More

When booking you had to give a time of arrival - I gave 21:00. At 18:10 the hotel rung to say I must arrive by 20:00 as they did not want to man reception after this time - did not want people "arriving at all hours". I said this was not possible. 20:20 - 20:45 was the best I could... More

I was attending a 2 day training course in Borehamwood and chose the Elstree Inn as it was close and cheap (£45 per night). The guy on reception was very helpful, chatty and friendly, got me checked in swiftly and showed me directly to my room (something which rarely happens these days, so bonus points for that). The room itself... More

Arrived here and checked in. The receptionist wasnt very friendly and didnt crack a smile once while we were there! Wasnt made to feel very welcome. Room was ok, not brilliant. Stains on the carpet. Cleaner came at 9am, on the 2nd day, when we werent even ready to leave and insisted we had to be out for 9.30 even... More

After reading some other reviews I was slightly worried about staying here but needn't have been-it was clean, basic but comfortable and I was given a very warm welcome. Basic but good value, and I'd definitely stay again More

A group of three of us stayed at the Elstress Inn in a triple room as were watching a recording at the Elstree stuiods back in 2010. It was the cheapest place locally, and afterall we were only staying one night. I remember being suitably unimpressed, and the bedding was dirty, we all decided to wear clothes/extra sleeping bag to... More
