We stopped here, in Santa Clara on our tour of the area and had a very nice lunch. It seems that this is a nice hotel, but I we did not get to it's facilities. The food was goof (a buffet lunch), service was fast and good.

This would have to be the worst hotel we stayed at in Cuba. Location - a long way out of town, so you need transport to find somewhere nicer to eat. Rural setting bungalows in trees with a pleasant swimming pool, with good loungers. Bungalows look primative from outside but are confortable and clean. Fully tiled showe room. I was worried about this hotel after reading some of the reviews, but it is really nicely laid out, thatched bungalows or small blocks of rooms, all thatched. Nicely located in the country near by Santa Clara ,the hotel Los Caneyes offers an attractive design with bungalows . The swimming pool is a good place to read , to rest and to drink.The buffet restaurant is reasonably good . Unfortunately plumbing in the bedrooms is not uptodate. Since my last stay in Santa Clara, this hotel has undergone a renovation. So I wish to redraw my orginal advisory for this hotel and bring it up to mediocre. Hotel Los Caneyes, Santa Clara, Cuba- Looked nice when we got there; bungalow rooms with AC, windows (no screens), nice pool. You can skip this one, folks. Looks nice upon arrival, but rooms are musty, plumbing was leaking, and bedbugs were biting everyone in our study tour group.
