Despite booking Hostel Florida Centre and confirming by phone the day before, we were instead told upon arrival that we were staying at a different casa run by a relative. The other casa was actually really nice (and just round the corner from Florida Centre so you can enjoy a nice dinner there) and served a great breakfast but would... More

Despite the early disappointment of overbooking, even after having called three days in advance. we were still taken to a very nice casa of his female cousin, which actually had an even nicer bedroom, to match any 5 star hotel in the Carribean. The best thing about the Florida Hostal how ever is the food which is by far the... More

We booked at Hostal Florida Center several months before our trip, and when in Cuba we re-confirmed by phone, as requested, two days before we arrived in Santa Clara. Nevertheless when we arrived we were taken straight to another hotel with no apology or explanation, other than that Hostal Florida Center 'had no room'. The owner of Hostal Florida was... More

The owner is overbooking his house. I reserved 2 months in advance, I confirmed 2 days in advance and when I arrived early in the afternoon the guy told me that all the appartments where occupied. So I had to go in another casa I did not really like, and I suppose the guy is charging a percentage because he... More

Had a fantastic stay at the Florida Center in April 2012. The house is beautifully decorated and the food at the paladar in the garden was great. More

Owners of Florida and Alba are business partners. Wilfredo at Alba (around the corner from Florida) is the cook at Florida were dinners are served. Last year both properties were listed in Lonely Planet. Both are full of tropical plants, trees, flowers. Well maintained, clean accommodation with many antique furniture pieces. Colonial styled architecture. Food -breakfast and dinner- are plentiful... More

It was amazing to stay in Angel's house, the colonial setting is perfectly preserved, and the food in the patio is heavenly... The touch of magic is sleeping without air conditioning as the house keeps cool even in the current heat! It was a great stay More

I was booked into this casa but it was full by the time I got there so stayed around the corner. I was a little disappointed but the owner couldn't have been more friendly and as this was a regular occurrence on my trip to Cuba I didn't mind so much. Next time though I REALLY want to stay here... More
