We stayed here on a recommendation from our tour guide in Havana for 2 nights. It was fantastic. Jose Ramon and his family were extremely welcoming and friendly. You get the whole first floor to yourself and a terrace with some nice chairs to relax in after a days sightseeing. I cannot recommend enough eating here. It was the best... More

My friend and I were on our way back to Havana from Santiago and decided to spend some time in Santa Clara to break up the bus ride, and I am so glad we did! Jose Ramon met us at the bus station, even though it was the middle of the night and arranged for transportation for us back to... More

My stay at Jose Ramon Hostal in Sta Clara was a breath of fresh air. After having been on a bus from Santiago, Cuba for more than 12 hours, and arriving at somewhere around 230 in the morning, the smiling face of Jose Ramon greeted me and my travel companion as we hauled our packs onto our backs. Jose was... More

I just arrived back to Sweden after two delightful weeks in Cuba. On my way through Santa Clara I stayed att Hostal "Jose Ramon" in Santa Clara. It is a very confortable, clean, and private place. I did not have an issue about bugs or another pest. On the other side, the host and his family were very friendly and... More

A little background: we are in our late 60's. We have travelled much of the low-cost world. We have stayed in 6 Casa's in Cuba. We are Canadians. Jose Ramon's was recommended by a previous Casa. It was clean, spacious, well appointed and quiet. The bed was comfortable. Breakfasts and evening meals were large and tasty. Jose Ramon senior and... More

It looks like I wasn’t the only one, who has experienced serious bug infestation at the Hostal Jose Ramon in Santa Clara, Cuba. I certainly and entirely agree with John’s review. I spent two nights at this place back in December, after which I escaped being bug bitten and have all my belongings bug infested. In addition, the owner, Jose... More

Stay Away Of This One!!! I arrived at Hostal Jose Ramon in Santa Clara at the beginning February of this year. During the first night while in bed, I was bitten by bugs and my entire luggage and clothes were bug-ridden. I brought the bug infested luggage and my clothes back to Canada. While complaining to the owner; Jose Ramon,... More

I'm not new to Santa Clara and I have stayed at other casas including it's only hotel, but when I stumbled on Jose Ramons from a quick search on the net, I quickly called my girlfriend who lives in the same town to have it checked out, within a few hours she reported that she found it to be very... Jose is a very friendly host. During our stay we enjoyed nice home-cooking, nice bath and our own loft with roof-terrace. The bed might be a bit hard, but overall Jose makes the best out of the apartment. There is also a kitchen inside the apartment, which we didnt use, the fridge was very useful though. More
