We had high hopes for Sean's, which we stayed at for one night on our last after trekking Tiger Leaping Gorge. It was a really disappointing way to end the trip: there was significant construction going on at the time (that didn't look set to end any time soon) that went on late into the night (maybe midnight). Not only... More

My experience at Sean’s was similar to a lot of the reviewers here: • The hotel does not honour bookings. When we arrived, we discovered he had rented out one of the rooms we had booked. • Sean is incredibly rude and racist. When we asked him about the rooms, Sean was completely unapologetic but instead insulted us with racist... More

Fairly basic rooms and food but acceptable. Highly recommended due to the location. No fancier rooms available in this area. More

The rooms are nice, big bed, nice barhroom but expensive (240 y for room without view). The food is ok. But the owner is so rude, have never experienced this before. Try to ask a question of which he doesn't make money off, you'll be told off or lied to. No I will never stay here again. Down the road... More

Sean was incredibly and unnecessarily rude to my good friend. Upon arriving at Sean's after a long day of hiking, the four consecutive rooms we had booked were not available and Sean tried to put us into a cheaper and less attractive room. When my friend inquired about why our room was not available, instead of apologizing, Sean launched into... More

Not only the owner Sean tries to rip foreign tourists off by charging premium rent, but also is a racist against his own Chinese ppl, esp the Shanghainese! We recently took a hiking trip to Tiger Leaping Gorge and I reserved 4 BB room which are claimed to be the BEST room equivalent to 5 star hotel standard... I negotiated... More

On the last leg of our TLG trek we decided to stay at Sean's - because it was low season we were the only ones staying there so managed to get a bit of a discount - still 250 yuan for "their best room facing the mountain". The room was fine, nice actually, with heating, but look and feel seems... More

Stayed here in Nov 2011 with a group of 12 cyclists riding through the region. Rooms are good, food is good, outside sitting area is also good. Shaun has a wierd honesty system for drinks etc, while they are expensive I'm sure he gets ripped off by people not being honest. Overall it was a comfortable and plesant place to... More

I have been to this guesthouse recently and had terrible experience from the owner (His name is Sean) of this guesthouse. He is very much money minded and tries to suck your money in very possible way! Once he thinks he can not get money from you, he plays all the cunning things. I am very much surprised how come... The most expensive place in the gorge, questionable views ("Sean's part of the gorge is the most spectacular!" - ahem, no it wasn't). Extra charges kept springing up. We also went on the extended trip to Haba and Baixutai - and after inquiring earlier the night before, when we came to pay the next morning, the prices had miraculously doubled.... More
