Spent one night here with my spouse and another couple of friends recently. First the good - there is a free shuttle bus that will take you to the hotel from Sapporo bus terminal at 1 pm everyday; the same shuttle bus will also take you back to Sapporo at 10 am the following day. The hotel is situated right... More

Anyway, the hotel upgrade my room to lake view with a very nice room in main building. There are two beds, one big sofa, one small sleeping sofa and very... More

Five of us have just returned from a 13N Hokkaido trip that covers Sapporo, Niseko, Hakodate, Lake Toya and Otaru. Thank God for His protection that we were not affected by the earthquake, and did not experience any shaking in Sapporo (when the quake happened). We stayed 1N at Toyako Manseikaku Hotel on 8 March 2011. It was a great... More

I booked this hotel through a japnese website and stayed for 1 night to enjoy onsen for one night. As this hotel is rated #2 at Trip Advisor, I was quite confident about this hotel. But I am wrong this time. We had a party of 12 ppl with 5 young children from 2-5 years old. We managed to check-in... More

We booked a lake-side Japanese room from the hotel website. On the reservation form we selected the free shuttle bus that leaves from JR Sapporo Station. The trip is 2.5 hours one-way, with a 15-min rest stop at Nakayama Pass. When we got to the hotel, we stood in the lobby waiting for the 2 receptionists to check in everyone... More

Stay away from TOYAKO MANSEIKAKU HOTEL. This is a con hotel, offer you room of lower grading than the one you booked. When I checked in, I was offered a room at the west wing which is old and smelly. The view was blocked by the tree and hardly any lake view at all. It was so bad that I... More

Even though the entry and lobby area were not grand looking, cramp and unattractive, the rooms were different. The newly renovated western room that we managed to stay were nice, cosy and clean. The food at the restaurant were of a good spread and we could not stop ourselves from eating all the nice spread for breakfast and dinner. The... More

This was the best onsen hotel I stayed during my trip to Hokkaido. From the hotel, you get a great view of Lake Toya, and on spring-summer months, they have fireworks displays every evening on the river! The onsen was very clean and comfortable. We had a buffet dinner at the hotel restaurant, the spread was excellent, and they had... More
