A beautiful experience in rural Tuscany - Staying in a small village (an ancient castle) with a lovely simple, rustic room - it was clean, well kempt and had ample space - and great views. Meals were in the shared dining room - a beautifully restored room with many special touches reflecting the history of the building and the owners.... More

I have stayed at Castello di Tocchi numerous times over the last 10 years, on tours and individually with friends. The setting is a charming medieval hamlet overlooking amazing forestland. It has always been a tranquil experience for me. The apartments are a bit rustic, but they are comfortable, clean and cozy. It is wonderful to stay there as the... More

This castle is an authentic representation of what a typical country castle was in the late middle ages. Very charming accommodations with attention to being "green", great food, comfortable rooms and very knowledgible host. As a fairly large group, this location lends itself well to group activities. We experienced the horseback riding and had a very enjoyable time. Not the... More

We hoped for Romance, and what we found were stray cats in a dirty little village. Castello is not a "castle" at all, but an Italian shanty town lacking in charm and clean towels. Our "host" Vittorio was never seen, and did not respond to our desperate phone calls. If you want a holiday I do not recommend it. The... More

Looking for a relaxing holiday in Tuscany with a base near Sienna so we could visit Sienna, Florence and surrounding villages, our travel agent recommended and we booked Castello di Tacchi. The recommendation and booking were both made based on the website description which proved to be incorrect and misleading. For example on the page describing the village, " you... More

My wife and I stayed at Vitorrio's other property, Villa Ferraia just down the road from Castello Di Tocchi. It was no less than fabulous. The food, accomodations, warmth of the hosts and facility were all terrific. We were there for a riding vacation and the quality of the horses were equal to every other aspect of our stay. I'm... If you want to escape from the chaos of city traffic, crowds and noise, Castello di Tocchi is the escape for you. Nestled in a beautiful tuscan forest of chestnut trees, surrounded by the sounds of mother nature the Castello is a real find. The walled village which was contructed in the twelfth century has been restored to 21st century... More

Wow does not even begin to describe the wonderful experience. His Villa is on a hill overlooking Tuscany, down a little dirt road outside of Tocchi. Fed us like Kings, Toured the countryside and treated us like family. Victorio the owner is one of most down to earth, funny, smart and entertaining persons we met in Italy. The Castello has... More

I have read the only review on Castello di Tocchi and felt compelled to write about my most positive experience there. The 'castello' is not in the village of Tocchi but a bit outside and is a smallish walled medieval hamlet where the villagers went for refuge when under attack centuries ago. The exterior may look a but rough due... More

From the website, Castello looked wonderful and we were excited. We made our reservation a month or so ahead of time and were told we needed to wire transfer 25% of the cost to confirm the reservation and we did so about a week before our departure. Things went downhill from there. First, they never replied to let me know... More

Dear Sirs, we are terrible sorry but it’s a review that dates back to 2005 and this is a result of bad communication with the travel agency. We have no longer worked with this travel agency. We have waited for the clients all afternoon but they never arrived. Regarding payment: as usual, clients payed travel agency because of previous agreements.... More
